Strikethrough '07
Livejournal hath gone all sluggish and database-unavailable-y.
A few links: An open letter to Warren Ellis. The letter is made of win; Mr. Ellis, not so much.
BoingBoing, complete with Warren Ellis backing off somewhat from his previous suckage. And, you know, actually looking at the page of nutcases he was sounding off in support of. Smooth.
This in from Livejournal: STFU, volunteers, UR MAKING US LOOK BAD.
A post from dreamer_marie, about the interesting irony of how LJ couldn't help when she reported an instance of hate speech...and over here, a not dissimilar experience from erestor.
lolaraincoaat is trying to keep track of deletions, and posting helpful links. Hey, check out ETA 9.
ETA: If dark_christian are even a little bit right about the people behind this, SixApart should be deeply ashamed of themselves.
According to this CNetnews article, SA don't sound as if they're intending to fix this disaster. "It was based on what community we want to build and what we think is appropriate within that community and what's not." I guess fandom isn't the community they want to build, then.
The mildly-good news: the owner of the two deleted PRG-journals might get them back. The bad news: SA are still trying to pull the WE DID IT FOR THE CHILDREN line. Funny: I don't think bigotry, hysteria and poor customer service are particularly good for children.
